If you know me, it is no secret that I LOVE thanksgiving and thanksgiving food! In my family, Thanksgiving is the most anticipated potluck of the year! Like many families, we get together and share a lot of amazing food. But, unfortunately, we can't do that every week. So to supplement my need for thanksgiving food, I make these turkey + dressing meatballs with herb gravy! Mamaw making her famous Thanksgiving dressing! She uses cornbread, onion, celery, turkey pan drippings, and plenty of sage! This would make delicious meatballs, if only there were ever any left over! First of all, let's talk about meatballs. Typically, meatballs are first browned in a skillet and then braised in a sauce. We aren't doing that today, cause we don't really have a flavorful tomato or cream sauce to go with it. We want the flavor of the turkey and dressing to be the stars here, not a sauce. So instead, we are going to shape them, bake them, and serve them with an herb gr

Mamaw Linda's Frisco Stew

I have been eating Frisco Stew my entire life, and have yet to learn why it is called "Frisco Stew." But whatever the reason, it is just 3 ingredients, easy, and delicious! Recently, I returned to my family's farm for vacation, and while I was there, my Mamaw made a big dinner! She made Frisco stew, coleslaw, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, cucumbers + onions, rolls and a peach cobbler! I took notes and cooked right along with her. So now, I know exactly how to make Frisco stew! Mamaw's Frisco stew dinner. Now my Mamaw & my mom make Frisco stew a little differently. My Mamaw uses Pork n' Beans, and my Mom uses baked beans. Mamaw's is sweeter, while Mom's is more savory and closer to Cowboy beans (meaty baked beans). This is my Mamaw's version. Mamaw Linda has a particular way of dicing onions.
