This past weekend I traveled to my family home and just ate the entire time. Like many families, food brings us together! So just to give you an idea just exactly what my Flavors Like Home looks like! I will post recipes for as many as I learned how to make this weekend! As I post them, I will put the links in this post.

Thursday Night: Leftover meatloaf + mashed potatoes

Friday Morning: Biscuits, Jelly + Sausage patties

Had to defend my breakfast from the cats! They like biscuits too!

Friday Afternoon: Cheeseburger + Fries from Raceway Market

Friday Night: Mamaw made everyone Frisco Stew, whipped potatoes, coleslaw, mac-n-cheese, creamed corn, cucumbers + onions, and rolls. Peach Cobbler for dessert!

Mamaw's creamed corn is made from garden corn that we've cut off the cob and frozen. It's reheated and cooked with plenty of sugar!

Cucumber + Onions are a simple pickle in a mixture of vinegar and sugar.

Classic diner coleslaw made with garden-fresh cabbage, carrots (purely for color), mayo, sugar, S+P

Frisco stew is a family favorite made with seasoned ground beef and pork n beans, baked in a dish.

Mamaw's whipped potatoes are a staple for just about every family meal!

Easy peach cobbler for dessert! Eat it while it's hot, with lots of vanilla ice cream!

Saturday Morning: Big breakfast biscuits, sausage, sausage gravy, eggs, and fried potatoes

Saturday Afternoon: Kaylee Jo's "Paw Patrol" 3rd birthday lunch. Ham + cheese on Hawaiian rolls, chips, vegetables, fruit, cake + ice cream

Saturday Night: Mexican food at Los Amigos to celebrate my sister's marriage!

Los Amigos has the best vegetarian selection in town. Vegetable fajitas are my favorite! Served with rice, beans, salad + warm tortillas! 

Sizzling zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, onions, peppers + tomatoes!
